Tech Stuff

It isn't my intention to bore everyone to tears with dry, boring technical information about how these things were created. Suffice it to say that all FoToonZ™ are 3D computer renderings with some 2D post work usually done to them.
The software I use in the creation of FoToonZ™, in no particular order, is as follows:

AMAPI 7.52  by e-frontier - combines NURBS modeling with polygon modeling. Can read CAD files.

Lightwave 3D® 9.6 by Newtek - a very good 3D modeling, animating, texturing, and rendering
                                                    package.

Poser Pro by e-frontier - I generally use this for setting up 'toon scenes.

Adobe® Photoshop® CS3 Extended - Used constantly for a whole variety of purposes.

Carrara 6 Pro by DAZ 3D - Many of the 'toons were rendered here.

Modo 401 - This is my main 3D modeling, UV mapping, texturing, and rendering program currently.

ImageSynth - A very handy program for creating image based textures.

ZBrush 3.5 - An outstanding 3D sculpting program. Great for 3D sculpture, adding ultra-fine details to
models, texturing, and 3D painting. I usually use it in conjunction with Modo.

Most of the above are augmented by a wide variety of third party “plug-ins”.

The 3D objects, textures, and backgrounds that I use are mostly purchased from a very talented group of 3D artists too numerous to name. When necessary, I do design some 3D objects myself, or sometimes I'll just mangle a purchased 3D object to suit my nefarious purposes (as in those poor horses in the DachsHorse 'toon.)
My computer is a recent, fast. quad-core machine with lots of memory and a 64-bit operating system.Occasionally, I'll enslave my wife and daughters' PC's for parallel processing over our little LAN.
